Elyssia

Finally finished a sculpt I've been working on. She's called Elyssia and she's a character from a top secret game only a complete geek would know about. Sculpted in Zbrush and modelled in various packages, Photoshop for texture and compositing. Based on a concept by my old pal Dennis Gustafsson.

Hare Sculpt

I thought I'd work up the hare I did in Zbrush and play around with sculpting the muscular look they have. I also wanted to catch that scruffy/clumpy look of their fur. Did I mention hares are awesome?

Fable 3 Auroran Bird

Another Fable 3 bird this time from the mysterious region of Aurora. A desert dwelling bird was needed so I designed this little chap. I wanted to strike a balance between vibrancy and his environment, hence the bold markings and large soaring wings.

Mini Squadron Sprites

Some sprite animation pages I did for the iphone game Mini Squadron. The brief being bright and cheery with a retro feel, anyone remember Parodius? :)

Fable 3 Animals

Here are some more ambient critters I did for Fable 3. They're fairly low poly but strike a decent balance between detail and engine fidelity. Bizarrely I only noticed the superhero connection after I'd composited them!

Fable Hare

A Fable ambient creature. I'm using him for my banner but here's a better shot of him. Hares are awesome.

Fun Characters

Meet Square and Round. One's an enthusiastic dreamer, the other a miserable bastard. Why are they friends? Who knows! Two fun characters I created for a comic strip. Appearing in a magazine near you soon! Possibly.

Fable 3 GUI

I worked on Fable 3's new fangled map screen and GUI. Here's some little buildings indicating the look that was needed. Lots of texture lighting and old skool pixel work here rather than model complexity.

Fable 2 Bloodstone House

Dug out another Fable 2 render. This time one of the houses in the Bloodstone Region. Again only in-game textures and models were used.

Character Illustrations

Here's two little characters I thought of for a childrens story. Mischievous little Troll and his responsible friend Kanin.

Architectural Renders

I’d been experimenting with architectural rendering and wanted to explore Vray software as a method of achieving greater realism. I recreated these 2 images from photos to see how close I could get my own lighting setup.

Commercial Spot

This is a little character I did for a series of commercial spot pitches. Created in PS and composited and animated in After Effects. Forgive the low quality of the composite, it's a screen grab.

Fable 2 Renders

Here's some renders from my work on the game Fable 2. The Demon Door and the Guild Seal. The models and textures are all in-game examples but they were rendered out in XSI. I'll post some more examples as and when I do them.

Robin Animation

Here's the animation that accompanied the Robin logo. I wanted to capture the fluffy, puffed up look of small birds feathers so I went with a fur setup and a custom rig for the posing.

The Governator!

After completing a lo-fi version I wanted to stretch myself with a higher poly count and visual quality. It also gave me a good reason to learn shader techniques in the process. Human heads are always a challenge (well they were before ZBrush appeared!) and this proved no different. Looking at it now, I really should have added some hair!

Dutch Character

This was a personal project. I wanted to create a character for a realtime game engine and who better than Arnie in his 80’s prime! This was done late ’03 I think, modelled in Lightwave and textured in PS.

CD Inlay

I really like clean graphic styles so when I got the chance to create something like this, I went very bold! Very Jason Brooks in technique and influence but with less stylised features.

Robin Red Breast Logo

I created this logo for the aforementioned company. Initially created in Maya but later rendered in 3DSMax. There’s an accompanying animation too, which I’ll post as soon as I can find it!

Car modelling

An old SAAB 92. I love this car, beautiful lines combine perfectly with simple form. Modelled in Lightwave and rendered in Maya, if I remember correctly.

Dead on TV

I created these panels for a music video. Sadly it never got the funding, bah!

Sony days long ago!

These were promotional images created for the Playstation game Terracon. Most were collaborations between myself and my excellent colleagues of the time, John Laws and Dennis Gustafsson. Good times.
